The ending scene of La Haine is one that demonstrates the hopelessness towards resolving the issues they are facing when Saïd closes his eyes to the violence that occurs to shut it out and escape. The issues demonstrated within La Haine are shown to be a constant cycle with no resolution through the use of technical techniques and the decision to have the film both begin and end with Saïd’s face. This is emphasised after Saïd, Vinz and Hubert go to Paris to visit Asterix and experience the luxury of his apartment contrasted with their homes. Through this the audience can acknowledge their entrapment within the estate due to poor conditions. Their bleak lives are shown through the introduction scene to Vinz in his bedroom, which is shown to be shared with his younger sister. The futures of those within La Haine are set up to be bleak through the display of their living conditions and day to day life, specifically with how little occurs.
